Barcelona 2Posted: November 21, 2011
We actually got up and went to lunch today. Goal was Kaiku but our only choice was an outside table when we called ahead before we left. All good, it’s 66 degrees, right. Ummm. Yeah. It is windier and colder at the beach. But if the windsurfers could deals so could we.
We started with grilled octopus with spicy sauce and avocado that tasted like smoked paprika and hot pepper.
Then we moved on to the arroz Negre along with a glass of wine each. Restraint showing.
We would have gotten a bottle bit luckily nix cuz it got too cold. The arroz came with a pot of aioli.
All was good and was a hefty 47€ for lunch and we wandered off
We passed a bread shop with this.
Then wandered off some more.
For dinner we went to Imprevist in the Raval where prices were astonishingly cheap. Hello 5,80e bottle of wine! And very good.
Don’t fear the english menu, Barcelona is english friendly. We decided to get several tapas, pan de tomaquet, then I had 2 app size plates and the husband had the oxtail for entree. It was a ton of food and all good.
The husband had the oxtail rocket with parm. And we shared the roasted veg pie with was a red pepper heavy soufflé of sorts and char grilled oyster mushrooms with sun dried tomato tapanade. Those mushrooms would have rum me like 16$ in the states for the raw mushrooms alone and the were soooooo good!
With the husbands espresso the total ran 50€ for the whole lot. Cheap. We also decided since we have super fancy 41• on the bill we are gonna skip dinner at Some of the other places we have on deck and go for 20€ lunches instead. We aren’t made of money and the 141€ 41• is scaring me. And this was so good and way cheaper.
So far so good. Tomorrow the market is back open and we have more wine to score. And we I ran into the same omnigendered guy who has me wanting to create wine teeth ™. Seriously. 5 years later. Wine teeth is still there. Along with some other oddities and junkies which we left the night with. They are the reason I like it here.
